Banana Pumpkin Bread is easy and moist and doesn’t require a mixer! This quick bread is made in one bowl and topped with a delicious cinnamon streusel, perfect for breakfast or snack time.

  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 slices

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup walnuts or pecans, lightly toasted and chopped (optional)
  • Streusel Topping: ½ cup flour, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, ½ cup brown sugar, 6 tablespoons cold butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Place rack in the center and spray a 9×5 inch loaf pan with cooking spray; line with parchment if desired.
  2. In a large bowl, mash bananas. Add pumpkin, melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until blended.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and nutmeg. Add to banana mixture and fold gently 10–15 strokes. Stir in nuts if using.
  4. Pour batter into loaf pan and smooth top.
  5. For streusel: combine cinnamon, flour, and brown sugar. Cut in cold butter until coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle over batter.
  6. Bake 50–65 minutes, test for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Cool 5 minutes in pan, then transfer to wire rack.

Notes

  • Check doneness with a toothpick; crumbs indicate done, wet batter indicates more time needed.
  • Salted or unsalted butter can be used interchangeably.
