- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
- 1 ½ cups cooked ham, diced
- 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese, divided
- ½ cup sour cream
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 can cream of chicken soup (10.5 oz)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup bread crumbs, optional
- 2 tablespoons melted butter, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine chicken, ham, and 1 ½ cups of Swiss cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, milk, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken mixture and stir gently to combine.
- Transfer mixture to the prepared dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup Swiss cheese on top.
- In a small bowl, combine bread crumbs and melted butter (if using) and sprinkle over the cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until heated through and the top is golden and bubbly.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use high-quality ham and Swiss cheese for the best flavor.
- Don’t overbake; if the topping browns too quickly, tent with foil.
- Optional: add vegetables like broccoli, mushrooms, or asparagus for added nutrition.
- Assemble up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate until baking.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
