Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic or 1–2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 12 jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup creamy Havarti cheese
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Peel and devein the shrimp if needed. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 4–5 minutes, flipping halfway through, until pink and opaque.
- Reduce heat slightly and add the Havarti cheese, stirring gently until fully melted and creamy.
- Drizzle in the lemon juice and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes. Stir once more.
- Transfer to a serving dish and serve immediately.
Notes
- Fresh shrimp give the best flavor, but thawed frozen shrimp can be used if necessary.
- Avoid high heat to prevent the shrimp from becoming rubbery.
- Gruyère or mozzarella can be substituted for Havarti if desired.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or extra red pepper flakes for added flair.
- Feel free to experiment with herbs like basil or chives.
