Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 hamburger buns
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preparing the Chicken Mixture: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes more. Stir in ground chicken, breaking it apart as it cooks, until fully cooked and no longer pink (about 5–7 minutes).
- Making the Alfredo Sauce: Reduce heat to low. Pour in heavy cream and stir to combine. Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and creamy. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. If too thick, add a splash of chicken broth or water to loosen.
- Assembling the Sloppy Joes: Toast hamburger buns lightly. Spoon generous portions of the creamy chicken Alfredo mixture onto the bottom halves, then top with the remaining buns. Optionally, sprinkle extra Parmesan on top.
- Serving Suggestions: Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm with fries, salad, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- Add chopped bell peppers or spinach when sautéing onions for extra nutrition.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
- Use half-and-half or low-fat cream for a lighter version.
- Try mozzarella or cream cheese for a different flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently before serving.
