- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Cooking spray, for greasing waffle iron
Instructions
- Preheat waffle iron and lightly grease with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs and stir in buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix gently until combined; batter will be slightly lumpy.
- Pour batter onto preheated waffle iron and spread evenly.
- Close waffle iron and cook 3–5 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Carefully remove waffle and serve hot with favorite toppings.
- Repeat with remaining batter.
- Clean waffle iron after cooling.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, keep cooked waffles warm in a 200°F (93°C) oven on a wire rack while finishing the rest.
