This creamy tomato pasta comes together quickly using everyday ingredients. The silky tomato cream sauce perfectly coats the pasta, making it a quick, comforting, and flavorful weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 (14 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup heavy/whipping cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Freshly grated parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook pasta al dente according to package instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, tomato sauce, cream, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add a pinch of sugar if sauce is too acidic.
  5. Drain pasta and toss with sauce. Add a splash of pasta water if needed. Serve immediately with parmesan cheese.

  • Do not substitute the cream with lower-fat alternatives to avoid curdling.
