  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9×5-inch loaf pans.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in buttermilk until fully combined.
  5. Whisk flour and baking soda in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  8. Pour 1/4 of the batter into each pan and sprinkle with 1/4 of the cinnamon mixture.
  9. Add remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon mixture.
  10. Swirl gently with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  11. Bake 45–50 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  12. Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
