Ingredients
Scale
- 6 chicken drumsticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup crushed cornflakes
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl combine flour, crushed cornflakes, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create the crispy cheesy coating.
- In another bowl whisk the eggs and milk together to make the egg wash.
- Dip each chicken drumstick into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly in the cheesy cornflake mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet or fryer.
- Fry the coated drumsticks for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked through.
- Remove from the oil and let the chicken rest briefly before serving.
- Serve hot for crispy, cheesy fried chicken drumsticks.
Notes
- Use a thermometer to keep the oil around 350°F for evenly cooked crispy chicken.
- You can bake the coated drumsticks at 400°F for about 35–40 minutes for a lighter version.
- Let the chicken rest a few minutes after frying to keep the crust crispy.
