  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 skewers

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken tenders, thighs, or breast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce
  • 1 stick butter
  • 810 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (more if desired)
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced
  • Chicken Seasonings
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep and Skewer Chicken: Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes. Combine the chicken seasoning mixture in a small bowl. Cut chicken into 3-inch pieces and place in a large bowl or zip-top bag. Toss with olive oil and spices until evenly coated.
  2. Thread chicken tightly onto each skewer with no gaps between pieces. Trim the ends of the skewers if needed to fit your air fryer.
  3. Make the Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce: In a microwave-safe bowl, heat butter and garlic until partially melted. Add red pepper flakes, hot sauce, parsley, and parmesan. Whisk until combined. If the sauce separates, add 1–2 tablespoons softened butter and stir to emulsify.
  4. Reserve one-third of the sauce for basting during cooking and keep the remaining sauce for finishing after cooking.
  5. Cook the Chicken: Place 2–3 skewers in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. Flip the skewers, baste with sauce, and cook for 2 more minutes at 400°F.
  7. Flip again, baste with more sauce, and cook another 5–6 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  8. Finish by brushing with the reserved clean garlic parmesan butter and sprinkle with extra parmesan before serving.

Notes

  • Oven: Preheat oven to 450°F. Place skewers on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake 14 minutes, flipping halfway and basting with butter. Broil for 2 minutes to brown the tops.
  • Grill: Grill over medium-high heat for 5–6 minutes per side, basting with butter while cooking.
  • Serve with rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
