- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 cup yellow onion, diced 1/2-inch
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 16 oz gnocchi
- 5 tbsp ricotta cheese
- 2.5 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
Instructions
- Sauté diced onion in olive oil for 3-4 minutes, then add garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey, cook 5-7 minutes until no pink remains and lightly browned. Stir in seasonings: Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, pepper, dried basil.
- Add marinara sauce and chicken broth, bring to gentle boil. Add gnocchi and cook 2-3 minutes until they float.
- Reduce heat to medium, cover, and simmer 7-9 minutes until gnocchi is tender and sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, add ricotta cheese, gently stir to incorporate, and cover 2 minutes to melt into sauce.
Notes
- Do not overcook gnocchi; it will become mushy.
- Allow ricotta to melt gently for creamy pockets throughout the skillet.
