Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4-5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown ground beef until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to skillet. Cook 3–4 minutes until onion is translucent.
  4. Spread cooked beef mixture in the casserole dish. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over beef. Pour beef broth (or water) around edges; optionally drizzle milk for creaminess.
  6. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15–20 minutes more until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
