- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4-5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1/4 cup milk (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown ground beef until fully cooked; drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to skillet. Cook 3–4 minutes until onion is translucent.
- Spread cooked beef mixture in the casserole dish. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheeses over beef. Pour beef broth (or water) around edges; optionally drizzle milk for creaminess.
- Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake 15–20 minutes more until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Brown the ground beef well and drain excess fat for a leaner dish.
