- 1 lb ground beef
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, about 5–7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef and cook until softened, 3–4 minutes.
- Spread the beef mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Layer the sliced potatoes over the beef. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potatoes.
- Pour beef broth around the edges of the dish.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Uncover and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
Notes
- Slice potatoes thinly for even cooking.
- Add vegetables like carrots or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving for cleaner slices.
