  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 10 oz linguine
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 4 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the linguine according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ground ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry and add to the skillet. Stir until sauce thickens, about 2–3 minutes.
  6. Add cooked linguine and toss until noodles are well coated with the sauce.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • Add vegetables like bell peppers or broccoli for extra texture and nutrition.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute soy sauce with tamari and use gluten-free pasta.
