Ingredients
Scale
Sauce:
- 1/4 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1½ tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 garlic clove, grated
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 2 teaspoons water (slurry)
Stir Fry:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1½ cups fresh pineapple, diced
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Make the sauce: Whisk together all sauce ingredients except cornstarch slurry in a small bowl. Set aside.
- Cook the beef: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and green onions, breaking up meat as it cooks. Season with salt and pepper. Cook 5-6 minutes until browned.
- Add pineapple: Stir in diced pineapple and cook 2 more minutes.
- Add sauce: Pour sauce over beef mixture and stir. Let bubble for 1 minute, then add cornstarch slurry and stir until incorporated.
- Finish: Cook 3-4 minutes more until sauce thickens. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro. Serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Fresh pineapple gives the best texture, but canned (drained) works in a pinch.
- Adjust chili garlic sauce to your heat preference.
- Store leftovers up to 4 days in refrigerator.
