These Ranch Garlic Parmesan Chicken Skewers are a herby, flavor-packed twist on tender fall-apart chicken. Basted throughout cooking with a rich homemade ranch garlic parmesan butter sauce, they’re juicy, bold, and incredibly satisfying. Perfect as an appetizer or served over rice and vegetables, these skewers are easily prepared in the air fryer with oven and grill options included.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 6 skewers

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken tenders, thighs, or breast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce:
  • 1 stick butter
  • 810 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (more if desired)
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dry ranch seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Chicken Seasonings:
  • 1.5 tablespoon dry ranch seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes before starting.
  2. Combine chicken seasoning mixture in a small bowl. Cut chicken into 3-inch pieces and place in a large bowl or ziptop bag. Toss with olive oil and seasoning mixture until well coated.
  3. Thread chicken tightly onto skewers with no space between pieces. Trim skewers if needed to fit air fryer.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat butter and garlic until partially melted. Add red pepper flakes, hot sauce, seasonings, and parmesan. Whisk until combined. If separated, add 1–2 tablespoons softened butter and stir to re-emulsify.
  5. Reserve 1/3 of the sauce for basting during cooking. Keep the remaining sauce separate for finishing after cooking.
  6. Place 2–3 skewers in air fryer at 400°F and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Flip skewers, baste with sauce, and cook 2 more minutes at 400°F.
  8. Flip again, baste, and cook another 5–6 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F (total 12–14 minutes, depending on air fryer).
  9. Brush with reserved clean sauce, sprinkle with extra parmesan, and serve.

Notes

  • Oven: Preheat to 450°F. Bake skewers on a foil-lined rimmed baking sheet for 14 minutes, flipping halfway and basting throughout. Broil 2 additional minutes until golden. Finish with reserved butter sauce and extra parmesan.
  • Grill: Preheat grill to medium-high. Cook skewers over direct heat 5–6 minutes per side, basting throughout. Finish with reserved butter sauce and extra parmesan.
  • Always keep cooked and raw basting sauce separate to avoid cross contamination.
