  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Shredded cheese (optional, for topping)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dice the potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add remaining olive oil. Stir in onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Mix in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add diced potatoes and stir well. Pour in 1/2 cup water, cover, and reduce heat to low. Cook 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
  6. Remove lid and check doneness. Stir occasionally and add more water if needed.
  7. Optional: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, cover, and let melt.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • Add extra spices for more heat if desired.
  • Serve with a side salad for a balanced meal.
