Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 4 medium potatoes, diced
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Shredded cheese (optional, for topping)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Wash and dice the potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add remaining olive oil. Stir in onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Mix in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer 5-7 minutes.
- Add diced potatoes and stir well. Pour in 1/2 cup water, cover, and reduce heat to low. Cook 15-20 minutes until potatoes are tender.
- Remove lid and check doneness. Stir occasionally and add more water if needed.
- Optional: Sprinkle shredded cheese on top, cover, and let melt.
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
- Add extra spices for more heat if desired.
- Serve with a side salad for a balanced meal.
