This easy Ground Beef Teriyaki recipe is a dinner you can make in under 30 minutes. Full of veggies, protein packed beef and a delicious teriyaki sauce that will have you coming back for more! Great for meal prep early in the week for grab and go meals on busy weeknights.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale

For the Teriyaki Sauce

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated or minced
  • 2 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4–1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, adjust as desired

For the Stir Fry

  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets, fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 4–5 green onions, chopped
  • Sea salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Whisk together all of the sauce ingredients and set aside. Chop and prepare the vegetables.
  2. Heat a large skillet or wok to medium-high heat. Add the sesame oil to the skillet. Add in the ground beef and heat until fully cooked (160°F internal temperature), about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Add in the broccoli, green onion, and carrots and cook until heated through and tender.
  4. Change the heat to low and stir in the Teriyaki sauce. Simmer for several minutes until ready to serve and allow the sauce to thicken.
  5. Serve over rice or as desired! Store leftovers in the refrigerator for 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Notes

  • Always use a meat thermometer as the best way to check beef’s temperature. Ground beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F.
  • Color is not always a reliable indicator of doneness.
  • You can double the sauce ingredients for a super saucy dish.
  • If you like your stir fry extra saucy, I advise you to double the teriyaki sauce. Save some to add to other recipes as well.
