- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1/4 cup milk (optional, for creaminess)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned (5–7 minutes). Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Spread beef mixture evenly in the baking dish. Layer thinly sliced potatoes on top, seasoning with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar and Parmesan cheese over beef. Pour beef broth (or water) around the edges. Optionally drizzle with milk for creaminess.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15–20 minutes, until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Brown the ground beef well and drain excess fat for best flavor and texture.
