These Honey Garlic Chicken Wings are drizzled in a decadent, homemade sauce made with soy sauce, paprika, ginger, honey, and garlic for the perfect balance of flavor. You can bake or air-fry these crispy, breaded wings.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (drummettes/split wings)
  • 1/3 – 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking oil spray (olive oil recommended)

Honey Garlic Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or liquid aminos
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger (or 1 tsp ground ginger)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat chicken dry, coat with flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper, add wings, spritz with oil, and bake 20 minutes. Flip, spritz again, bake 10 more minutes until crisp.
  4. Heat honey, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and smoked paprika in a saucepan 3-5 minutes until thickened. Adjust seasonings to taste.
  5. Drizzle baked wings with honey garlic sauce and serve.
  6. Air Fryer Option: Cook coated wings at 400°F for 15 minutes, flip, cook 5 more minutes. Drizzle with prepared sauce.

Notes

  • Substitute regular paprika if needed, smoked paprika adds depth.
  • Finely mince fresh ginger; remove large chunks after flavor infuses.
  • For sticky wings, bake coated wings 5 minutes longer with sauce.
  • Flour can be replaced with 1-2 tbsp baking powder or omitted for naked wings.
  • Adjust salt to taste; spices alone are not enough.
  • Make spicy with Sriracha, cayenne, or Cajun seasoning (1–1.5 tsp).
