  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, pickles (optional)
  • Mayonnaise, mustard, or ketchup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare mushrooms: Melt butter in a skillet, sauté mushrooms (and onions if using) for 5–7 minutes until golden. Set aside.
  2. Form burger patties: Divide beef into 4 portions, shape patties, season with salt and pepper.
  3. Cook burgers: Cook patties 3–4 min per side (medium), add Swiss cheese during last minute and cover to melt.
  4. Toast buns: Lightly toast buns until golden.
  5. Assemble burgers: Spread condiments, layer lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheesy patty, sautéed mushrooms and onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use 80/20 ground beef for juicier burgers.
  • Customize toppings and condiments as desired.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
