  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk melted butter, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla in another bowl until smooth.
  4. Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  5. Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
  6. Bake 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool 10 minutes in pan, lift out using parchment, and cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.
