- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk melted butter, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla in another bowl until smooth.
- Pour wet mixture into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Spread batter evenly in prepared pan.
- Bake 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes in pan, lift out using parchment, and cool completely on a wire rack. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Substitute chocolate chips with dried fruits or seeds for a healthier option.
