Indulge in some delicious, creamy, and cheesy pasta with this easy One Pot Creamy Mac and Cheese made right on the stovetop. It’s quick, comforting, and packed with rich cheese flavor using minimal cleanup.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups uncooked macaroni or pasta of choice
  • 3 cups water
  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1.5 tbsp paprika (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 1.5 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Grate the cheese and prepare all ingredients.
  2. Add dried macaroni and water to a pot. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to medium-low.
  3. Cook pasta until al dente, allowing most of the water to evaporate while leaving a little in the pot.
  4. Lower heat and add cream, cheeses, seasonings, mustard, and sugar.
  5. Stir continuously until cheese melts and sauce is smooth.
  6. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use 1–2 cups more water than pasta to ensure proper cooking.
  • Swap cheeses as desired.
  • Sugar balances flavor without making the dish sweet.
  • Add more water if pasta dries before fully cooked.
