- For the Cabbage:
- 1 small head cabbage, cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, for brushing
- For the Meat Mixture:
- 1 pound ground beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based alternative
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large egg (optional, for binding)
- Optional Topping:
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice cabbage into thick 1/2-inch rounds and brush both sides generously with olive oil. Place on a baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, combine ground meat, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and add egg if using.
- Form the meat mixture into patties and place each patty on top of a cabbage slice.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until the burgers are fully cooked.
- If using cheese, sprinkle it over the patties and broil for 3–5 minutes until melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven and serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Freeze cooked burgers for up to 3 months.
- Try ground chicken or plant-based meat for variety.
