Delicious ricotta meatballs baked to perfection, served in marinara sauce for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ricotta, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.
  3. Form mixture into 1–1.5 inch meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  5. While baking, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 5 minutes to meld flavors.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil. Enjoy on its own, over pasta, or in a sub sandwich.
