- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ricotta, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.
- Form mixture into 1–1.5 inch meatballs and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- While baking, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add baked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 5 minutes to meld flavors.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil. Enjoy on its own, over pasta, or in a sub sandwich.
Notes
- Customize the meatballs by adding other herbs or spices as desired.
