Sloppy Joe Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (Dijon or yellow)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (for sauce)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (for sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (for sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (for sauce)

Potatoes

  • 5 small/medium potatoes, diced into ½-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • Paprika, to taste

Topping

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Dice potatoes into ½-inch cubes. Toss in a bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until coated.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic until beef is browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add seasoned potato cubes to the skillet with the browned beef mixture.
  4. Pour in tomato sauce, ketchup, BBQ sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir well. Add salt, pepper, onion powder, and paprika for the sauce. Mix until combined.
  5. Cover the skillet and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover and cook for another 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and gooey.

Notes

  • This recipe is great on its own, or you can add diced bell peppers or frozen corn for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • For a spicier dish, add red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
