Ingredients
Scale
- 5 chicken thighs, skin on, bone-in
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar, packed
Instructions
- Add the chicken, salt, pepper, and garlic to the slow cooker.
- If you prefer crispier skin, brown the chicken skin-side down in a skillet with 1 tablespoon vegetable oil before adding to the slow cooker. (If your slow cooker has a sear function, use that.)
- Mix ingredients, then flip the chicken skin-side up.
- Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top.
- Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- (Optional) Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Use boneless, skinless thighs if preferred; reduce cooking time by 1 hour.
- Pair with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed veggies for a full meal.
- For extra flavor, add a splash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce before cooking.
