- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- Optional: red pepper flakes, extra garlic cloves, fresh oregano, sun-dried tomatoes
Instructions
- Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place chicken in slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix chicken broth, marinara sauce, and Italian seasoning; pour over chicken.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6 hours or HIGH for 3 hours.
- In final 30 minutes, sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan; continue cooking until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- Prep ingredients night before for convenience.
- Refrigerate leftovers 3–4 days; freeze without cheese up to 3 months.
- Let rest 10 minutes before serving. Optionally, use chicken thighs instead of breasts. Avoid opening lid during cooking.
