  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground meat, chopped spinach, minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Take a small amount of the meat mixture and flatten it in your palm. Place a cube of mozzarella in the center and fold the meat around it, sealing it completely to form a meatball.
  4. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  5. In a skillet, heat a bit of oil over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  6. Pour the marinara sauce into a baking dish and place the browned meatballs on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Make sure to seal the mozzarella well inside the meatball to prevent it from leaking out while cooking.
  • Use lean ground meat for a healthier option.
