- 12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne, rigatoni, or any short pasta)
- 1 lb (450 g) sausage, sliced (Italian sausage, smoked sausage, or your preferred type)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Sausage: Heat olive oil in a skillet. Brown sausage slices 5–7 minutes. Transfer to a plate.
- Make the Sticky Honey Garlic Sauce: Add garlic to the skillet. Sauté 30 seconds. Stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and chicken broth. Simmer 2–3 minutes. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Combine: Return sausage to skillet, coat in sauce, and simmer 3–4 minutes. Add pasta and toss. Stir in butter. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen sauce.
- Finish: Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with parsley and Parmesan if using. Serve warm.

- Reserve pasta water to adjust sauce consistency.
- Try smoked sausage for a deeper flavor.
- For a vegetarian option, use plant-based sausage and veggie broth.
