Ingredients
Scale
- Dough
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- Coating
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 cup white sugar
Instructions
- In a pan, combine water, butter, salt, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat and gradually add in the flour, stirring continuously until the dough comes together smoothly. Turn off the heat and remove the pan from the stove.
- Transfer the dough into a large mixing bowl and let it cool for 4-5 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix thoroughly using an electric hand mixer until smooth.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with nonstick spray.
- Pipe bite-sized churros into the basket without overcrowding. You can also drop spoonfuls of dough if preferred.
- Lightly brush butter on top and cook for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Work in batches if needed.
- In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon. Transfer cooked churros into the mixture and toss to coat evenly. Brush with butter or spray lightly if needed for better coating.
- Serve warm with dips like chocolate syrup, honey, or Nutella.
Notes
- Work in batches to avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
- Brush churros with butter before coating for better cinnamon sugar adhesion.
- Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
