- 1 large jar (approx. 46 oz) of plain dill pickles
- 2 cups sugar
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons fresh jalapeño, chopped (adjust based on heat preference)
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 2 teaspoons chopped parsley
Instructions
- Drain pickles, discard original juice, and slice into ¼–½ inch rounds. Retain the jar for storage.
- Layer ingredients: Start with 1–1½ cups pickles, add ½ cup sugar, 2 garlic cloves, ½ tsp red pepper flakes, and ½ tsp jalapeño.
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used. Sprinkle remaining sugar on top if any.
- Cover jar and let sit at room temperature ~1 hour until sugar liquifies. Shake or stir gently to distribute.
- Leave covered for several hours or overnight to meld flavors.
- After room temperature marination, stir again and refrigerate 1–2 days before serving.

- Adjust jalapeño and red pepper flakes based on desired spice level.
- Refrigerate after initial marination for best flavor and crunch.
