- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Cooked rice or noodles (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add diced onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in bell peppers and broccoli. Cook for 3–4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and water.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring well. Cook for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
- Drizzle with sesame oil, garnish with green onions, and serve over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Use low-sodium soy sauce if you prefer less salt.
- Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure proper browning.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- Add chili flakes or sriracha for heat.
