- 1 pound ground turkey

- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté diced onion for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey, breaking it up, and cook 6–7 minutes until browned.
- Whisk together soy sauce, water, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and ginger in a small bowl.
- Mix cornstarch with cold water to make a slurry.
- Pour soy sauce mixture over turkey, bring to a simmer, and cook 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry to thicken sauce, simmer 1–2 more minutes.
- Add red pepper flakes if desired.
- Serve turkey over cooked rice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
- Use lean ground turkey or ground chicken as a substitute.
- Add chopped vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for extra flavor.
- For a sweeter sauce, increase brown sugar to 3 tablespoons.
- For gluten-free, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
