- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 cinnamon stick or 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 vanilla bean, split and scraped (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
- 1 black tea bag or 1 tsp loose-leaf black tea (optional)
- 1 tsp sugar, honey, or sweetener of choice
- 1 star anise (optional)
Instructions
- Bring 1 cup of water to a low boil in a small pot.
- Add the cinnamon stick and vanilla bean. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer gently.
- Let the mixture steep for about 10 minutes.
- Strain the vanilla-cinnamon infusion into a cup. Add black tea if using and steep for 3–5 minutes. Stir in sweetener if desired.
- In a separate container, gently heat the milk until warm (do not boil). Froth if desired.
- Pour the warm milk into the tea and stir gently.
- Garnish with ground cinnamon, a cinnamon stick, or star anise. Serve hot or over ice.

- Use plant-based milk to keep this recipe dairy-free.
