- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1/4 cup milk (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
- Spread beef mixture evenly in the baking dish.
- Layer sliced potatoes on top and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
- Top with cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
- Pour broth (or water) around the edges and optionally add milk for creaminess.
- Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

- Brown beef well for better flavor.
- Slice potatoes evenly for consistent cooking.
