Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika until just combined.
  2. Form into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides (5–6 minutes). Transfer to slow cooker.
  4. In the same skillet, whisk flour into remaining oil and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Slowly whisk in beef broth until smooth.
  6. Add Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  7. Pour gravy over meatballs in the slow cooker.
  8. Cook on low for 5–6 hours or high for 2–3 hours until tender.
  9. Serve over cooked rice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

  • Ground turkey or chicken can be used for a lighter version.
  • Add mushrooms or bell peppers for extra flavor.
